NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. Those words are widely attributed to Alexander Tytler, the Scottish judge and historian who lived from 1747 to 1813. There is, however, some debate over the attribution. Historians and researchers have questioned whether Tytler actually wrote the passage in the form in which it is commonly quoted, whether he expressed a similar idea that was later expanded and attributed to him, or whether the passage originated elsewhere. The exact authorship may be debatable. The warning itself is not. Here is the prophetic quote:”A…

The Los Angeles Dodgers have become baseball’s evil empire over the last few years, starting with the signing of Shohei Ohtani in late 2023.They added Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Teoscar Hernandez and Tyler Glasnow that offseason as well, then won the 2024 World Series over the New York Yankees. And instead of resting on their laurels, they kept going afterward. Then won the World Series again. In the 2025-2026 offseason, baseball fans, particularly on X, lost…

The Army is ending an experiment with a dedicated drone battalion less than a year after tasking the infantry unit to test how such a formation could operate, an Army official said on Thursday. In November 2025, U.S. Army Europe and Africa, in collaboration with the Department of the Army and U.S. European Command, charged the unit with learning from dedicated drone forces, including those fielded by Ukraine, and feeding those lessons back to the Army to support the Pentagon’s push for U.S. drone dominance. The official, who spoke on background, said in a statement that after the massive, multinational Exercise…

Trying to understand kinetic energy can be confusing, but here we break down how it affects terminal performance. When shooters seek information about the performance of handgun ammunition for personal protection they most often look at bullet caliber and weight, plus muzzle velocity and muzzle energy. Of those four metrics, bullet caliber and weight and muzzle velocity are the easiest for us to wrap our heads around. We can see the size of the bullet, feel how much it weighs, and we are intimately familiar with speed. What shooters find difficult to comprehend is kinetic energy due to a lack of…

Another new TOPS model to talk about: the Silent Hero 4 Tanto. It’s more than just a new blade shape here, with alterations across the board to fit the Silent Hero concept into a tactical use category. There is an interesting history behind this new Silent Hero 4 release. Today we’re looking at another fixed blade, but one that is much smaller, and with a much different use category: the Boker Plus Li’l Friend Micro. With a name like that, we don’t need to tell you that the Friend is not a tactical knife, nor a hard use one in the broader sense. No, this one is a EDC fixie, and one on the smaller side with a 1.38-inch drop point blade. That being said, the…
